August 2007 Breakfast Meeting
The August meeting was well attended with 13 members and two guests enjoying breakfast at the Piccadilly Cafeteria. Following breakfast a short meeting with conducted with VP Paula Vopelak presiding in absence of President Norman Penfield. He and Linda were celebrating the 45th Anniversary of Norman’s birthday!
A recap of the CLC Grand National Meet in Savannah was discussed—especially Russell experiencing two flat tires. Members attending the CLC also enjoyed the cruise home which gave them another opportunity to view classic Cadillacs or LaSalles on the road.
The September Tech Session to be held at Doug and Anna May’s home was reviewed. Doug asked for tech questions from the members so he could be prepared. Doug has the tools, garage space and expertise to help fellow members with any Allante’ issue. The Tech Session should be a fun day.
Discussions followed on the possibility of a National Allante’ Meet being held in Atlanta. Wheaton Cave reminded everyone that a National Meet was not a small undertaking but required a lot of volunteers willing to work hard for a successful National Meet. Everyone was enthusiastic about the project. Additional discussions will be held at subsequent meetings.
Paula reminded everyone about the Annual Business meeting and Election of Officers to be held at the December meeting. Folks should be thinking about opportunities to serve or offering candidates for the positions.
The meeting was adjourned with folks heading to the parking lot for the monthly review and discussion on everyone’s Allante’.
