Allante’s at The Biltmore
The Florida Group came to Canton, Ga. on Thursday evening. After checking into the hotel, several of them joined Norman & Linda at the Outback for dinner. On Friday morning, several Atlanta members who could not join us on the trip came to give us a big send off. We caravaned to Nantahala, where we had a very nice lunch with river view.
We then proceeded into Asheville and checked into the Baymont Inn. Since it was such a large group, dinner was a dine around and everyone met at the Biltmore house at 7:30 for the candlelight tour. It was very crowded but breathtakingly beautful with the opulent decorations and furnishings. Saturday morning, the Florida group left for various activities and the Atlanta group went to tour the gardens at the Biltmore and the ladies were delighted with the garden shop which had so many unique gift items. We had lunch in the Biltmore village and visited some of the shops and enjoyed the various scenes that were being presented as part of the Dickens Village Production. Then it was back to the hotel for a short siesta before heading to the Grove Park Inn for dinner. The buffet was very delicious and elaborate. We were very impressed with the service and hospitality every where we went in the Asheville area. After dinner, some of us went to view the Gingerbread House contest entries. The detail and creativity were amazing.
Sunday morning, the Florida Group headed on to Nashville for the next leg of their trip and the Atlanta Group met for a country breakfast and then we all headed home to start a much needed diet (NOT)!!! It was a lovely start to the holidays and we met many new Allante enthusiasts.
