Saturday March 18th

   We met at the Cracker Barrel in Newnan. After a hearty breakfast, we caravanned to Calloway Gardens. We viewed a film about the gardens and then walked through the Discovery Center. Although the azaleas were not blooming, the jonquils, hyacinths, tulips and others were very colorful and made us feel the beauty and promise of Spring. Before lunch at the Gardens Restruant, we explored the Butterfly Center and took many photographs. In late afternoon, we visited the center with orchids and other tropical plants. The variety of orchids was spectacular and we had fun trying to identify the plants that were not labeled. The weather was cool but sunny and everyone had another long wonderful day for their Allante’ memory book.
