BACKROADS TO CHATTANOOGA CHOO CHOO

We met as planned at the Cracker Barrel Friday afternoon. We took a scenic backroad route through Calhoun over John’s Mountain through the pocket to Lafayette where we picked up Lookout Mountain Parkway into Chattanooga. We stopped by the hang gliding school but it was pretty quiet. After checking into our rooms at the Choo Choo, we met for cocktails in the Station House before going to dinner. We ate at St. John’s on Market St. which is walking distance from the hotel. What a delight! The food was delicious and had food for the adventurous palates in our group who ordered antelope.

On Saturday we met for breakfast. Some went to Rock City and others went to the Incline Rail. When we met for lunch at the world famous Bea’s, everyone agreed they had a fun time at both places. In the afternoon we explored the River Walk until the heat got us. We had dinner on the River Boat with live entertainment and the cruise back was wonderful with many scenic views, a nice breeze and a beautiful sunset. It was another great trip.
