Allante’ Christmas Trip To
Stone Mountain Park
We met at the Stone Mountain Park Inn Friday afternoon. All of the Christmas Festival activities were right across the street from the Inn. We walked over and took the tram up to the top of the mountain where we admired the panoramic view and took pictures of the landscape and the unusual rock patterns. After the ride down the mountain, we explored the park and looked in some of the shops and caught a comedic version of A Christmas Carol. We enjoyed the Christmas parade and watching the children have a magical time seeing Santa and Mrs. Claus. Later, we went to dinner at The Commons, one of the very nice restaurants in the Park.
Saturday morning, we met for breakfast in the Inn and it was quite a buffet. We went back to the Park for some more sightseeing and shopping. Anxious to show off the cars, we drove into Stone Mountain Village for lunch and to check out their shops. We had lunch at a German bakery and restaurant. The food was delicious with some unique offerings especially in the bakery.
Back at the park, we went for a train ride around the mountain, and to see a couple of the live shows which were very entertaining. The Christmas singing and dancing definitely helped us get in the Christmas spirit. The ladies went to the Elf Kitchen to decorate cookies with Santa’s helpers. It was a long day of festivities and every nook and cranny was decorated with lights. Before leaving for dinner, we watched the Christmas laser show from the Inn’s balcony.
Sunday morning, we met for breakfast and discussed next year’s activities. As we packed up the cars before check out, we gave Linda Gresham, the “best shopper” award. It was a great time with dear friends making our Christmas season very merry and blessed! We left looking forward to another awesome year of activities showing off the most gorgeous of all sports cars, the Allante’.
