February 16th Valentine Breakfast Meeting
We decided to try something different for our breakfast meeting in February and boy did we succeed in the “different”! The original Flying Biscuit restaurant located in the Candler/Inman Park area of downtown Atlanta was our destination. While some of us had a little trouble finding the place and parking was definitely a problem, we had 26 members attend. The parking made it impossible for our photo taking president to get his typical shots of the cars. They gave us a private room for our meeting and meal. The menu and the décor were eclectic which is appropriate as this area is very cosmopolitan with art stores, designer and vintage clothing shops, specialty foods and much more. It is obviously a very popular place as it was full to capacity with people waiting to get seated.
It was great to have such a big gathering and to see some members we hadn’t seen in awhile. Our club has a wonderful time no matter the time, place or weather conditions. We all agree that it is a pleasure to be a member of such a group. Everyone is looking forward to March 15th (the ides of March) for our first road trip of the year to the famous Whistle Stop Café in Juliette, Ga. (famous for the filming of the movie Fried Green Tomatoes). It is another beautiful area of Georgia for us to explore in our cruising Allantes’.
