March Breakfast and Day Trip
We met at J Christopher’s in Peachtree City for breakfast. We had a great turnout considering the tornadoes the night before. After breakfast, the sixteen of us were treated to a golf cart tour of Peachtree City. Rip, a friend of Ken and Linda Gresham was our leader. WOW! What a ride! It was great fun and we learned a lot about the history of this unique area. Our ride ended at the Gresham’s home. We were served our choice of champagne or mimosas along with fruit, nuts and candies. The Gresham’s home is charming and decorated very artistically. The wine cellar tour had a captivated audience. Linda’s garden is something to behold, we just wish more had been in bloom.
After our visit at the Gresham’s we caravanned to Juliette, Ga. via a scenic route that took us through some very picturesque towns like Brook and Barnesville, Ga. We took many photos of the shops and the Whistle Stop Café, famous for the filming of Fried Green Tomatoes. Of course, everyone tried the fried green tomatoes at lunch as well as some other delightful Southern dishes. We did not make it to the farm as planned as time passed too quickly! Another fun and memorable day for the Allante’ Atlanta group.
