MYRTLE BEACH
Allante National Meet
Five Allante’ Atlanta members travelled to Myrtle Beach for the National Meet sponsored by the Cadillac Allante’ Club and organized by Johnny Monzo. There were members from several clubs represented.
Friday night, about 60 of us had dinner as a group at T-Bonz restaurant before heading to the Alabama Theatre for the show ONE. It was quite a production with various genres of music, dance and comedy. The comedian had us laughing until our stomachs hurt! He was hilarious and very original.
Saturday morning was the show and judging. There were some really beautiful cars of course and almost every color was represented. The banquet was held in a ballroom at the hotel and the meal was extraordinary. Norman Penfield, our club president presented the Ken Kogge award to Cadillac Allante’ members, Ron and Ann Stokes from Alexandria,Va. for their immaculate ’93 Pearl White. Norman was presented an award for best stock ’93 and Paula Vopelak won for customized ’93. Best of show was awarded to Fred and Neili Koontz of Pasenda,MD for their ’93 Teal Blue. Best Customized and Modified was awarded to Matt and Hope Marsella of Sewell, NJ for their’93 Flax Yellow.
It was a great time at the beach with perfect weather and lots of fun stuff to do in Myrtle Beach. The shag dance clubs were in town so there was plenty of music and dancing. Also, some really great shopping. The hotel was so beautiful and right on the beach so you didn’t really have to leave there to enjoy some wonderful views. Our thanks to the Cadillac Allante’ club for a great trip!
