Peach Blossom B.O.P. & C Car Show
(Before I begin posting the write up for the show I just wanted to take a second to thank Linda Penfield for all the work she does for the website. Every month she writes up the summary of the events and trips and does a wonderful job. I may technically build the website, but without her writing eloquence there really would be no website. I have received many compliments for the site and I appreciate that everyone seems to enjoy coming to Allante Atlanta and I just wanted to let others know how much I appreciate Linda’s help on the website.) Several Allante’s attended the Peach Blossom B.O.P. & C car show and swap meet. There were a total of 148 cars, mostly represented by Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiacs with a few gorgeous Cadillacs ranging from the late 1930’s to the 1993 Allante’s. Some of the Allante’s were entered in the show in the convertible class. Ken Gresham took home first in clas plaque for his 1991 White Allante and Norman Penfield took home a third place for his 1993 Red Allante. Those two tone spoke wheels got a lot of attention but a little too customized for the judges.
It was a beautiful day with a nice breeze, great oldies music, car items to buy or swap, souvenirs, food and drink. A perfect day to be outside enjoying the weather and the company of fellow car enthusiasts. Jerry Cannon, Trell Norton, Dennis Guthrie, and Sarah joined the Greshams and Penfields during the show.
The Penfields and Greshams stayed overnight at the marriott and took their shuttle to Canoe for an excellent dinner. The food was superb plus we got a free fashion show due to prom night. An after dinner walk outside in the gardens along the Chattahoochee for a few Kodak moments made the perfect ending to a wonderful day.
After Sunday morning breakfast at the Marrioit, we dusted off those Allante’s and headed out for further adventurers as it was another delightful top down cruisin’ kind of day.
