ALLANTE’ WINTER DINNER
Saturday night over 20 Allante’ members met at Sage Woodfire Grille in Dunwoody, Ga. for our annual winter dinner. We enjoyed a wonderful meal from hors d’oeuvres to dessert with terrific service. Budd and Darr Neidig from Tennessee shared their photos of their recent trip to Egypt. They didn’t spot any Allantes’ but Darr did ride a camel and she had the pictures to prove it! We are an adventurous group for sure.
After dinner, our president, Norman Penfield spoke about what a wonderful year of events we had in 2010 thanks to our trip director, Paula Vopelak. She has an exciting line up of cruises and surprises for us in 2011 also. Norman encouraged all of the members to participate in as many events as possible. They are all such fun! Norman also thanked Bernice Kniffen, our treasurer for her conscientious work keeping our money and membership in order. He recognized Doug Jackson for sharing all of his technical knowledge and serving as Tech Support for the group. James Sebastian and Sandy Harazak have agreed to do our newsletter this year and we know they will do a great job. Norman presented the officers with thank you gifts. Paula presented Norman with a thank you gift and recognized his wife Linda for her contributions to the website and newsletter content.
Members are welcome to join from any state, not just Georgia. We have very active members that live in Tennessee and North Carolina. If you read our web posts on a regular basis, you know we are a FUN club. All Allante’ and XLR owners are welcome to join us. 2011 is looking to be the best year ever and that is saying something. It is wonderful to have some GOOD NEWS to think about as we begin the New Year. See you in February for a day cruise. Remember to submit your suggestion to Paula before January 3lst so she can announce the winning cruise before Feb. 19th. Happy New Year!
